Description: Fingerprinting is technique used by pentester in the case of live web server. This video explains in detail about fingerprinting. One thing here important is we can not fingerprint a live web server without permission of website owner. Video is divided into 3 part: brief description , demonstration and analyzing the outputs.
Knowing the type and version of running web server allow testers to determine known vulnerabilities and proper exploit to use during testing. This can be done by sending specific commands to server and analyzing the output. The tools used for demo are following:
