Description: This video is all about a simple command line utility fping. It is a ping like program
which uses the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) echo request to determine if a host is alive. But fping is different from ping. We can specify any number of hosts on the command line.
We can also specify a file containing the lists of hosts to ping. Fping uses round-robin fashion Instead of trying one host until it timeouts.fping will send out a ping packet and move on to the next host.
If a host replies, it is noted and removed from the list of hosts to check. If a host does not respond within a certain time limit and/or retry limit it results unreachable.
In the 2nd part of video some other options of fping are explained.

fping has lots of interesting features. I like "-b" option most because it decide amount of ping data.
How it is different from hping
hping is a command-line oriented TCP/IP packet assembler/analyzer.
Great tool i have used this tool many times, now hping is better then this. :)
