Description: Metoscan is a tool used for scanning the HTTP methods supported by a web server. This tool first tests the URL and check the responses for the different probes.
The HTTP methods are various techniques for submitting the data to sever entered by client in form. There are different type of methods such as get method, post method, head method etc.
In GET method retrieve information (in the form of an entity) is identified by the Request-URI. There is some difference between HEAD request and GET request, Head request asks the server to return the response headers only, and not the actual resource. So we can check characteristics of a resource without actually downloading it. A POST request is used to send data to the server to be processed by a CGI script.
More information about above methods are available on following link.
