Description: In this presentation titled "Satellite Hacking for Fun and Profit", given at Blackhat DC 2009, Adam Laurie talks about how to hack Satellite feed data. He discusses how one can scan for satellite feeds at different frequencies, visualize them and decode them. He also talks about Satellite hacking history and how in the good old days only proprietary control systems and expensive receivers were available to the satellite hacker. In comparison, now with off the shelf hardware and open source software it is possible to hack together a home brewed satellite scanner for less than $800.
