Description: We are excited to announce our first online certification course - SecurityTube Wi-Fi Security Expert (SWSE). This course is ideal for penetration testers, security enthusiasts and network administrators. The course leading to the certification exam is entirely practical and hands-on in nature. The final certification exam is fully practical as well and tests the student's ability to think out of the box and is based on the application of knowledge in practical real life scenarios.
There are tons of awesome things we have planned, so please watch the video and visit:

Fantastic! The funny thing is that many of us were already using your courseware in Wi-Fi to give other certification exams.
For $200 this seems like a steal :) You should charge more. I'll probably be the first to sign up.
Thanks for all the awesome videos and for continuing to keep SecurityTube free for everyone!!
Hi Vivek,
great job!
Could you please shed some light into the certification exam? How will it be? Will you provide ssh access to a lab or something like that? Perhaps you could make a simple video with a demo session :-)
Thanks for your hard work!
albatr0ss
P.S. I just OSWP can I miss SWSE now? I think I can't :-)
@albatr0ss Thanks for writing in man!
Yes, the exam will be a mix of online labs (ssh into a box with wifi) and / or examining pcap files for interesting clues :) I am sure it will be fun :) The whole exam will be practical - no multiple choice or essays to write ;)
Great my friend,
thats what I wanted to hear! :-)
Now I have to watch through the videos and get a copy of your book ;-)
Btw is the DVD I got at Defcon still actual compared to the online videos?
You could add a badge to a certified user on the site.... :-D
Yes, the DVD has no changes till now but I am planning to add some new videos to the course this weekend :) The Wi-Fi Security industry is ever changing :)
Ok, notify us via twitter when you have done so I'll download the new copy.
Se you next year ;-)
Badge is planned I think. Certified user will have badges :)
I assume this would be no good for a total novice? Messed about with WEP cracking on my setup but only by following guides (so still don't understand Linux or Backtrack just got through doing the WEP cracking by following video guides)
@gijoe I think its just the opposite. The Q&A Forums, Course Revision and Doubt Clearing over webinars, Mock Exam etc. are all there to help someone start from scratch.
If you see the screenshot on the slides, Vivek seems to have a Q&A forum for every video, so you can ask questions when you are stuck.
Just my 2 cents. I am taking this course because I am stuck at WPA :)
Excellent news. I recently stumbled across your site looking at the Metasploit Mega-primer and have been working through the WiFi Mega Primer. Excellent, Excellent material Vivek. I plan on signing up shortly.
Excellent job on Securitytube as well and for keeping it free to use!
@gijoe @John-Nash nailed it! In my mind, this course is paced for someone who has no idea and has just begun learning WI-Fi security. So, if you are stuck in the labs, this course is for you :)
@Duncan Thanks my friend! Look forward to seeing you in the class soon. We will never compromise on the FREE aspect of education :)
Anybody that has already subscribed wants to share their thoughts? ;-)
I will surely this we... I am waiting for the hardcopy of Vivek's book...
btw Vivek how many hours will we have to complete the exam?
@albatr0ss The exam will be for 6 hours :) Get ready for some fun :)
@Vivek Just registered for the Cert but Paypal is complaining I can't use my associated CC to complete the payment... just sent an email
Reserve me a place... lol
btw what do you tell me about the project of starting an IRC channel would be a great place to meet!
Great idea sir!
would be nice to see it in news ;)
ya anything going on with the IRC idea?
Keep rocking!
Yeah, it would be handy for the exam too. When I did OSWP I had problems with the ssh connection and with the wireless adapters in the lab machine :-( both where resolved with a dedicated tutor for exam period on IRC
now future courses update will be free or not ?
@infogeek either an IRC or a regular chat channel will be there for the students
@albatr0ss No lab setup is ever predictable but we will be supervising the network and helping out on the exam days, so no worries.
@jibu I mention in the video that all future course updates will be free, probably something nobody else gives at this point.
@Vivek Woohoo, just won my battle with Paypal, payment made! :-)
Hi Vivek,
great job both with SecurityTube (I had a similar ideas for some security tube but you ware faster :D ) and SWSE certification.
Can you provide some additional information about certification? How will certified people prove their certification? What we get? How do we prove that no one write exam for us... etc? What is required (web cam... etc)
Thanks for your effort of sharing knowledge.
@albatr0ss See you soon my friend :)
@crash Thanks! :)
Answers to your questions:
1. How will certified people prove their certification? There will be a portal where employers can verify the certification by entering the certificate number.
2. What we get? A hard copy of the certificate will be mailed to you if you pass the exam
3. How do we prove that no one write exam for us... etc? What is required (web cam... etc) No online exam can solve this unless it is proctored at a place like Prometric where GRE, GMAT etc. takes place. Also, even if you use a webcam it is trivial to have something else show up ... So, we cannot solve this for now.
I would like to answer to this question also:
How do we prove that no one write exam for us?
It cant be proven and that shouldnt be authorizied and checked too much. I mean it only depends on you if you want to learn and take the exam, but if you want that someone else takes the exam for you then you will have an useless piece of paper (for you) hanging around with 0 knowledge :)
SignedUP.
And purchased the book....
Thank you for generosity and I look forwards to get cracking:)!!!

Is @SWSE_Student the "official" twitter account for SWSE?
