Description: This flaw is present in Internet Explorer 7 from Microsoft.
Microsoft recommends that Windows XP users who do not fasten the F1 key when prompted for a website, as part of the reaction to a vulnerability that has not been corrected that can be used to break into computers using Internet Explorer (IE).
In a security bulletin, the company confirmed a bug in VBScript, providing more information about the failure and giving tips on how to protect your computer until the release of the fix.
"The vulnerability exists in the way it interacts with the VBScript help files in Windows using Internet Explorer," the newsletter said. "If a malicious website to show a dialog box and the user presses the F1 key, arbitrary code can be executed."
Windows 2000, XP and Server 2003 are affected by the bug, Microsoft said, and any version of Internet Explorer that run on these systems - including IE6 on XP - can be used by attackers.
Microsoft has not announced a release for the fix. "We will take appropriate action to protect our consumers," the company said. The next security is scheduled for March 9.
Even without classifying the vulnerability, Microsoft said that hackers can exploit the flaw to take complete control of a Windows system.
